Every Animal, Every Child

Into the heart of the forest so deep
Lions and tigers and cattle and sheep
From all the corners the west and the east
The children are marching with every beast

Over the hills and in valleys so low
Zebras and horses and big buffalo
All of the creatures on earth, sky, and sea
Sing with the children a strange melody

The snakes on the ground
And the hawks up above
Elephant, butterfly, wolf and the dove
Into the heart of the forest so wild
Every animal
Every child

Why are they going what is this trance?
I wish I could join them in their secret dance
Brown bear, oh brown bear, oh what do I see?
What is this strange magical mystery?

The turtle moves slow
And the hare hops along
They join in the dance and in singing the song
Into the heart of the forest so wild
Every animal
Every child
