About a year ago she painted
This kick-butt portrait of me
And I now have it framed
And out of all the art in my overstuffed home,
This is the favorite painting that I own
I just want to be a kid
Hey ma look what I did
Scribble on the walls
And on the bathroom stalls
And on the ceilings and the floors
And on the windows and the doors
Kids art is the best art
All soul and all heart
Spontaneous creation
Without that dreadful hesitation
Of the over-thinking Adult
