Night Walk

Along wooded trail at night
I heard an owl call to me
I knew that was being watched
From a silhouetted tree

The moon cast a icy light
And I thought that I might freeze
I wanted so to float away
Beyond the reaching of the trees

Fallen angels and shackled ghosts
Royal feasts and drunken toasts
The darkness fell a heavy cover
Pressed me down and pulled me under

It's all a graveyard late at night
Where lost spirits call to me
It echos from a world unseen
From some lost eternity

A battlefield, a smiling beast
A crying doll, a wandering priest
The darkness fell a heavy cover
Pressed me down and pulled me under

I saw them there in that dim light
From behind a kind of veil
Their images are carved in stone
Somewhere on that wooded trail
