I was
warming up a burrito
on the stovetop and it
seemed to be taking extra long
I checked
on it several times
And after 15 minutes I
realized the wrong burner was on

Just went the Cub Foods,
which is the largest supermarket in Duluth.
They were out of:
Smooth peanut butter,
canned tuna,
pasta, and bread
and my favorite coffee
so I have to drink
something else instead
But I'm okay, I'm fine
I got plenty of supplies
And I'm not too burdened
By my coffee-compromise
Some rhymes were lost
But now they’re found
Hallelujah!
The trumpets resound
But you can’t say hallelujah
During the season of lent
So maybe hip hip hooray
Is more what I meant
Nothing much has changed for me
In this age of quarantine
Nothing much has changed
Except for maybe how I clean
Like door knobs and stuff
And wiping the piano keys
And washing our hands before lessons
To avoid catching this stupid disease
I’m lucky cuz I can still
Give lessons or at least I hope
All my students came this week
Maybe next week they won’t!
Lots of conspiracies floating about
Lots of panic and fear and doubt
Lots of people who just aren't sure
And are hoping that they soon find a cure
A bunch of rhymes have been
Secretly placed
I'm all caught up
And no longer a disgrace
Well
If you actually read the rhymes
You'll find they're kinda dumb
But that's kinda the point
Still, I’m actually proud of some
I was shocked to get an email
at just after 11pm last night
that said Homegrown is canceled
this is crazy am I right!?
and all my friday Cedar gigs
have been canceled as well
until at least halfway into May
I guess there's art work I can sell...
The ides of March
Here comes the arch
Then a free fall to April
I cling to now but
It goes anyhow
And this can be quite painful
