Last Friday
Down in St. Paul
At the FItzgerald theater
A beautiful concert hall
I played for the first time ever
with a band
I’ve never done this before
You have to understand
SO I was pretty nervous and scared
That I would mess up big
Which is why I fly solo
with my self contained rig
Cuz I don’t want to mess up
Anyone else
I can handle it if
I just mess up myself
well i hoped i’d be feeling better
But I am still under the weather
I got an apartment I gotta clean
cuz it’s a bit of a disaster scene
tomorrow I’ll write about LOW
and playing with them friday night
for now i’m being lazy one more day
I hope that that’s alright

It's Sunday
I was sick all day yesterday
And still am sick today
Runny nose, a cough
And nausea to top it off
It's the post performance hangover
Cold-weather style
But i've been due for a cold
Cuz i haven't had one in a while
It's amazing how one skull
Can hold so much snot
I hardly have room enough
For one rhyming thought
ps. no drawings today or yesterday but i will add them later today I have two church gigs to go to right now
I’ve had a busy week
Rehearsing like a freak
I’m taking a day off
Cuz I have a bit of a cough
And a runny nose
Tomorrow I will compose
A better poem for you
also ps this morning I don’t have my computer
(I’m in the cities)
And wrote this poem yesterday
So I’m kinda cheating up in here
Tonight I play at the Fitzgerald theater
With the band, LOW
And so this morning's poem will be short
Cuz I gotta get ready to go
And guess what
I woke up with a cold
and so i've got a LOW
and scratchy voice
but we're singing Christmas tunes
so hallelujah and rejoice
This morning
An hour an a half before the rising sun
The sky was a creepy orange
When it should have been dark black
Just this fuzzy orange glow
And the strange and whispering air
What the heck is going on?
Something's lurking somewhere
And now it's snowing again
That must have been it
The lift bridge has disappeared
But I'm sure it'll return in a little bit
You can now sorta make it out there to the right of the two water towers.
It sure is freezing out
Yesterday
I had a quarter inch of solid ice
Enveloping my car
After ten solid minutes of scraping
I still had not gotten very far
The ice was fused so tightly
I simply couldn't tell
If I was chipping away at the window glass
Or the layer of ice from hell
In other news,
I forgot to post my Tuesday Tunesday song
I can't believe that I forgot!
So I'll sneakily back-date it and post today
I just hope I don't get caught
A wise person once said that
The art is never done, it's only due
And I'm like holy that rings a bell
For me that is too often true
There's always something you could improve
Always something you couldda done instead
"Art is never finished, only abandoned"
Several smarty pants supposedly have said
I would rather leave a work unfinished
Than to overwork the things I make
You gotta be careful and vigilant
So you don’t overbake yer cake
